Leadership and Life Coaching
Douglas Paul Cunningham LLC offers two coaching tracks:
Life Coaching supports individuals through personal growth, transitions, and life direction.
Executive Leadership Coaching supports professionals and managers in strengthening communication, confidence, and leadership presence at work.
I have completed the 70-hour International Coaching Federation (ICF) certification course and have coached business executives, pastors, artists, social workers, and other professionals.
A foundational principle of ICF-certified coaching is that the person being coached already has the answers within them. The work is a collaborative partnership — not advice-giving, not therapy, but a focused conversation that helps the client access their own insights and chart their own course. The focus is on the client’s stated priorities, pace, and vision.
What Leaders Develop Through Coaching
Self-leadership under pressure — regulating one’s own responses to lead clearly through conflict, ambiguity, and high-stakes moments.
Structured, direct communication -- frameworks for difficult conversations that build trust instead of avoiding the issue or letting it damage the relationship.
Boundaries with clarity — distinguishing what is one’s own versus what belongs to someone else, foundational to effective delegation, feedback, and managing up.
Decision-making clarity — separating reactive decisions from values-aligned ones, especially under time pressure.
Resilience and recovery — tools to reset quickly after a hard meeting or setback, instead of carrying it into the next one.
